Community Pride!
@ardentartisteproductions are always going to be on my festival list. Why? Because of the way they run their dance company! @mellogamymuse (who is the producer/director) puts it so clearly when she explains it to the audience . She says, she wanted to create a space where all performers were included as teachers, students and onstage . It’s easy to see her eyes light up when she talks about the community she’s been able to create around dance and I freaking love it.
And that support of each other and just joy in finding/being able to provide a home for people to dance makes for a buzz around the show that you can’t fake. The audience can feel the excitement and the happiness streaming from backstage as soon as we enter the stage and we want to see them perform!
As expected the show was great. The energy from the performers was through the roof, every single performer had the audience beginning to end of their routine … charisma was overwhelming!
Highlights ? @ivy.cyanide_burlesque and @blondie_sprinkles and always fantastic in their routine from Beauty and the Beast. They are both amazing dancers and the years of friendship have created an excellent onstage chemistry for this kind of thing!
@starling.strix was exquisitely obscure in a character that I must admit I’m not familiar with…. But they were that good I didn’t need to be! They developed this whole otherworldly character in a way only @starling.strix can and I have one word! Breathtaking!
Also loved the Lost boys !!! Awesome group numbers that I could have watched for days, expert dancers, such great stage presence and they worked so well with each other!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It was a great show !!! What made it a really great show was the community supporting the production! @mellogamymuse ur making the world a better place just by being in it!
