Blending stunning percussion and guitar with captivating rhythms and choreography, Bandaluzia Flamenco with Teresa Hernández is a work of beauty in this year’s Fringe season. With their first two shows already sold out, the performance is one to be enjoyed by everyone of all backgrounds and ages, tugging at the audience’s heart strings with boundless passion.
Led by Damian Wright, an ARIA nominated Flamenco guitarist, the show invites fringe-goers into an hour of live music and dance at Ukiyo in Gluttony. Audiences get an in-depth glimpse of classic flamenco, covering everything from music and choreography to the gripping emotion in each tap, step, look, and note.
Many hear the word “flamenco” and instantly think of dancing, and the show certainly does not disappoint. Professional flamenco dancers Rosalie Cocchiaro and Jessica Statham truly bring the performance to life, conveying deep and vibrant emotions that come with being experts at their craft.
The outstanding dancers are joined by acclaimed flamenco singer, Teresa Hernández. Her hauntingly beautiful vocals highlight her cultural roots through a modern perspective, captivating audiences and even moving some to tears. As a winner of the National Flamenco Singing Awards in Madrid, the Adelaide Fringe is lucky to have Teresa Hernández perform live.
With palpable synergy between the dancers and musicians, Bandaluzia Flamenco with Teresa Hernández is truly an honour to witness live.
