Opal Mining Experience
Join forces with Dan and Renee from Outback Opal Hunters as we hunt for elusive gem opal in the famous Opal Capital of the world, Coober Pedy. You will work with us in our open cut Opal mine under the amazing starlight desert night sky. Get your hands dirty swinging a pick, wrangling a jack pick and wielding a UV black light after the 50 Tonne Excavator reveals never seen before opal bearing ground.
Experience an actual working mine located within the Opal Capital of the world, with 2 generations of experience, Dan and Renee have developed an efficient mining technique in an easy to access open cut mine. No ladders or winches as you drive right down into the open sky mine.
Machinery can be a little noisy, conditions can be dusty, surfaces can be rough - but Dan and Renee do their best to make this experience as safe as possible.
Please note, you will need to complete a waiver prior to the event. Once you've booked tickets, you will find the waiver in your order confirmation, along with your tickets.
