In a purpose-built big top in Ellis Park, revellers thronged in to see the Adelaide Fringe debut of the spectacular Infamous.

With a bevy of performers with a range of incredible talents including acrobatics, dance, cabaret, trapeze and more it’s a fun-filled and risqué night out.

The opening act alone is worth the price of admission, the death-defying stunts raising the cortisone levels of everyone in the audience and gasps and shrieks being uttered throughout the tent. The “Wheel Of Death” certainly lives up to its name, and the tension escalates to a fever pitch.

There are impressive aerial performances and a tight-rope act showing extraordinary feats of strength and balance it’s enough to make anyone realise how unfit they are. Every act was delivered with precision and finesse, leaving the spectators on the edge of their seat in awe.

Aside from the mastery of circus skills, Infamous weaves in sexy burlesque and erotic dance as interludes with a Marilyn Monroe-esque temptress and a whole host of sensual dancers.

It wouldn’t be a circus without a clown, and Jessie the clown’s antics keep the performers and the audience amused and in line with reverse heckling and a skit involving a giant balloon that is so funny you’ll burst.

At almost two-hours (or longer if you include the interval) it’s a full night of entertainment. It’s easy to see how Infamous have built such an international reputation as one of the best circus cabaret shows. It’s big, bold and a bit naughty.
