Multicultural Inclusion

Michelle Tseng has over nine years of marketing experience in the arts sector. She was formerly the Head of Marketing at Melbourne Fringe and had worked for the organisation for five years before her recent move to the ABC. Michelle is Australian-Taiwanese, who specialises in campaign management, marketing strategy and community engagement. 
During her time at Melbourne Fringe, she delivered Fringe Focus Taiwan by bringing Taiwan’s contemporary performing art to Australia. She also executed successful marketing campaigns for Arts House, Dance Massive, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and more.

As Community Development Coordinator within the Multicultural Communities Council of SA (MCCSA), Somi works closely with member organisations and communities in supporting their governance and leadership. She provides tailored support on grant writing, organisational governance and mentoring for new and emerging communities in SA. She also frequently heads advocacy work that MCCSA does by collaborating and bringing together the CALD voice on pieces of research work. In addition to her work at MCCSA, Somi is a classical Indian performing artist and educator and runs her own dance school and company Apsaras Arts Adelaide.  

Yasmin Gurreeboo has worked in the performing arts sector for over two decades and is a theatre director, producer and a CACD practitioner. Yasmin has a first class honours drama degree from the University of Exeter and trained at the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School, Paris. Yasmin is currently the CEO + Artistic Director of ActNow Theatre and was one of the co-founders of RUMPUS Theatre. In 2023, Yasmin directed the world premiere of Here and There (DreamBig Festival/ActNow Theatre) and Every Brilliant Thing (State Theatre Company of South Australia). 

Yasmin’s directing highlights include: award winning That Boy (Holden Street Theatre/ Adelaide Fringe), award winning digital-theatre hybrid Decameron 2.0 project (ActNow Theatre/State Theatre Company of South),  An Ode To My Sisters (UK Tour), award nominated And No More Shall We Part (Bakehouse Theatre, SA), Eurydice (Foul Play - SA). Yasmin is committed to championing underrepresented voices and diversity (in its widest sense of the term) on our stages.

Ethel Osazuwa serves as the Business Executive at Possible Consulting. With 17+ years of service delivery, Ethel brings her rich background in psychology and international development to advance the wellbeing of individuals. With extensive experience in collaborative work with individuals and businesses from diverse multicultural backgrounds, both locally and internationally, Ethel has made significant contributions including work with the United Nations World Food Programme. Her areas of expertise spans across workplace diversity and inclusion, new arrival resettlement, sustainable human capital development, and wellbeing. At the heart of Ethel’s foundational values lies a steadfast commitment to equity for all. Ethel is deeply passionate about gender equity, empowering young people, women, and newcomers.

Heather Muirhead is the Manager of the Murraylands Migrant Resource Centre which is a regional branch of the Australian Migrant Resource Centre. Heather has over 16 years’ experience working in the settlement field with both humanitarian entrants and skilled migrants. The AMRC has an arts and cultural development program. The aim of this program is to promote the cultural traditions of both refugees and migrants. We convene and partner with a number of organisations including, Harmony Day, SA Refugee week, African Unmasked festival and Nowruz festival with the Middle Eastern Council of SA In the Murraylands we hold a Multicultural Festival every March and a All Cultures Festival in partnership with the Rural City of Murray Bridge in June plus smaller get togethers throughout the year. The festivals are an opportunity to showcase the various cultures living in the region through music, dance and arts/crafts. We support and encourage members of the various communities to perform at the festivals and we are looking to support performers to enter other festivals including Adelaide Fringe. 

Fida is a dedicated social worker, recognised as a defender of human rights and social justice. His commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion has been a driving force throughout his career. Currently, Fida is working in the settlement sector, drawing from his extensive experiences and contributions across various fields, including migration law, the high school system, and community organisations. 

Fida dedicates his time and efforts to assisting individuals and communities in adapting to new environments. With a compassionate approach, he strives to create spaces that celebrate differences, empower marginalised voices, and work to dismantle barriers while promoting equality. Outside of his professional life, Fida enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and meeting people from diverse backgrounds.
