If your kids love to get up and dance during Fringe shows, they’ll absolutely love The Glow Squad Show. The dance routines are simple and clearly communicated so kids can participate, yet the squad performs a tight, well executed dance show with a few clever moves thrown in.
The squad – Dazzle, Lightning, Flash, Starlight and Dynamite, together with Glowbot the robot, are exploring earth after crash landing. They need to source and restore the glow levels on earth – luckily this comes from love, friendship, truth and wellbeing. The message is woven into the narrative and every dance, expression of delight from the audience, and realisation about friendship increases the glow levels further.
The show culminates in a spectacular explosion of glowing ribbons, drums, fireworks and breakdancing.
The show is pitched at young children, but anyone who loves getting up and moving will enjoy the show. The pace can be a bit slow at times, and it’s often difficult to hear what the squad are saying. Despite this, the bright, positive costumes and choreography kept the audience engaged and out of their seats, even on a hot day.
