After winning the 2024 Frank Ford AM Commission and making its global debut at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Skinny returns to Gluttony for a limited time. Starring award-winning Michelle Pearson, this emotion-filled cabaret fusion takes the audience from tears to laughter in a beautiful hour of music and storytelling.

Pearson’s magical voice intertwines with warm humour as she tells the story of a life growing up overweight, from the comments made by family and peers to the drastic measures she took to lose weight in a world where being skinny feels like the only way to be accepted (hint: motivational weight-loss pants are not the answer). From pop hits to powerful ballads, the audience is invited to immerse themselves in every song, connect with Pearson’s story, and realise that difference is the thing that makes people beautiful.

Skinny takes us on a journey filled with laughter, emotion, and the message that self-love and acceptance will set you free. This harmonious blend of singing, storytelling, and a lively supporting band sets the stage for a show with an important message of body image and the pressures we all face.

Skinny, Gluttony – Rymill Park, until Sunday 23 February, 7:40pm.
