The title gives a strong clue about this show, which touches on the subjects that may or may not transform living on earth to a living hell. The young artists (Sarah Fitzgerald and Aquilla Sorensen) combine comic satire and drama with a fresh perspective, energy, timing and, most importantly, humour.
The opening sequence takes us to a medieval world where women are witches and hard rock signifies chaos, setting the tone for the show. Audience interaction works like a charm and the crowd clear enjoys the back and forth. We then move to a desert highway to discuss sexuality and the concerns of the LGBTQ+ community, with a final third act focusing on animal cruelty in Australia. Effective use of props, great engagement and lots of comedy (as well as appropriate and respectful content warnings) help this show land an important message in a way that’s inclusive – and pretty funny too.
Hell On Earth, The Courtyard Of Curiosities At The Migration Museum, until Sunday 2 March, 6.10pm.
