The Big Naked Comedy Show
First things first, yes, it is a comedy show, yes, it has some big acts and yes, they are really all naked.
This reviewer enjoys boundaries being pushed, so this show was a fantastic experience from the get-go.
Host and producer Paul Savage bared his soul and wares to smooth the packed and slightly apprehensive audience into a level of comfort with absolute confidence.
His evident skill in standup and hosting making for a riotous start to the evening.
Sarah Ison kicked off the guest acts with an absolute bang. Well spoken and riotously funny, the prepared and improvised material quite obviously took on a new level when she delivered it unclothed.
Jeromaia Detto looked completely comfortable as the self-confessed footy devotee who now does prop comedy. With not much opportunity to place his props anywhere, he opted for pure standup with fantastic results.
Roxy Stardust came in like a Scottish whirlwind, engulfing the audience in her Glaswegian candour, much to the delight of all. A triple threat, Stardust is a pure performer, at home with song, dance, standup, prose and using her birthday suit to its full potential
Rounding out the night was the quintessential Aussie, Mick Nevin, showing that you don’t have to use shock humour to be bloody funny. His frank but well measured jokes hit every mark with even the most tough audience members.
As the audience piled out, there were smiles all round, some still laughing and reciting moments from the show as they exited the Gluttony gates
Keen to see the solo shows of the collaborators, I might even be disappointed that they have their clothes on.
The Big Naked Comedy show does what it says in the title, see it before it sells out.
