Oh, this one will tickle yer pickle. Yozi’s hour of chaos and madness is an irresistible laugh-fest that pokes fun at comedy, its rules, and how we make ourselves fit in, with one of the best pay-offs you’ll see... well, anywhere. From clown school to hosting an orgy via a trip to Disco Mountain, Yozi repeatedly reminds us that ‘comedy is so weird’ before launching into another bit that proves their point in the most delicious of ways.

But make no mistake, as archaic as this hour feels to watch, it’s clear that every beat has been meticulously planned by a master of funny stuff. There are a lot of clown school graduates at Adelaide (and we love them all), but Yozi’s pointed exploration of the clown process of becoming is a sly delight, particularly to anyone who’s gone through any kind of performance education. Their mangling of language is a thing of beauty too (we walk in a jerkle with our partners in mime and mourn the parapets with no parrots). The AI section does feel a tiny bit laboured, but it’s an important reminder that when it comes to comedy at this level, AI could never. This is gut-busting, genre-bursting hilarity, and it’s your last chance to see this show at Adelaide. Don’t hesitate: grab a towel and step into Yozi’s sauna.
