Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Deadpool read you a bedtime story? No? Why not? That is exactly the premise behind the high-action, raunchy and very much adults-only Fringe spectacular, MARVELous The Show.

This show is very much aimed at fans of the Marvel franchise, however, there is plenty in this show that will appeal to anyone who enjoys tongue-in-cheeky humour, a little risqué fun, brilliant choreography and some extremely well executed routines.

Each segment in MARVELous The Show pays homage to a favourite Marvel character and a famous moment from that film. Each routine was brilliantly choreographed. They were sexy, bold and highly entertaining. The crowd got behind each performer and each routine with huge cheers, especially in the more ‘adult’ moments of the show.

Each performer in the cast of MARVELous The Show is exceptional, but real standouts were Andrea Zappacosta’s Defying Gravity (Wicked) parody and Samwise Holmes’s parody of Alexander Hamilton (Hamilton).

The set is made up of a multileveled scaffold that spans the entire back of the stage. This is used brilliantly for fight sequences. When the audience enters, Deadpool is roaming the audience. Don’t avoid him, he will find you! The banter with the audience is entirely unscripted but brilliantly sets up the tone of the show.

This Marvel parody spectacular is certainly not one for the kids and the advertised MA15+ rating should be noted. If you are easily offended by crude language, occasional nudity and a lot of sexual innuendos, this show may not be one for you. However, it is a fun and entertaining way to end your Fringe evening — see it while you can.
