If you’re feeling the urge to jump in the deep end this Fringe, to dig a little deeper and see what’s bubbling away later at night...Mixtape might just be your jam.

Darius Emadi has arrived with love in his heart, and a carefully curated playlist to help him. Tonight’s opening show is full of the kind of energy audiences are willing to give in to right from the start, as he takes the stage to bring a fun – and funny – kind of chaos.

At times members of the audience are on stage while Emadi’s in the seats. You’ll be dazzled by a flying carpet, or maybe find yourself shooting some hoops. And at one point there’s a shark stalking him around the venue. I’m not sure how this looked because I was the shark tonight, but it’s all about the energy in the room, and everyone’s having a good time being part of something so excellently silly.

And there’s the music. Throughout the show the Mixtape propels us, clapping and wayoh-ing along, never really sure what’s coming next but happy to let Emadi’s lovable chaos open up a whole new world.

So if your Fringe has felt a bit mainstream take a chance on a clown, his chaos and some different beats. It’s one you won’t regret.
