Bec Hill’s back at it. Following what she calls ‘the end to a successful marriage’ (also known as ‘a divorce’), Hill’s skills as a quirky comedian showcase how she can be just as funny on her own account and doesn’t need anyone else to shine. Come to witness ‘not a show’ but instead a comedic spectacle, from inflating an air mattress to two fingers prancing under the spotlight. Her artistic abilities and extreme creativity are platformed through her signature flipchart books. With rhymes like a poet, her pop-up books and multimedia flip charts paired with popular songs are food-themed:  ‘don’t you want meat gravy’ to the tune of ‘Don’t You Want Me Baby’, and ‘tell me wine, ain’t nothing but a minced steak’ to the tune of ‘I Want It That Way’.

While the show sometimes leaps unpredictably from one topic to another, Hill skilfully ties her jokes together, feeding off the energy of the crowd with storytelling, costumes, karaoke and even cosplaying as her vulva. Ultimately, this show is a celebration of humanity, reminding us all to embrace our authentic selves with the added bonus of humour and creativity.
