In a rich and vibrant display of immense culture, Amazônia invites Fringe-goers on a beautiful journey through the Amazon. The show is hosted in Gluttony’s Octagon, following Moa and her village as they battle the growing urgency of environmental destruction.

Amazônia is choreographed by the award-winning samba queen Talita Fontainha, whose prowess and passion for Afro-Brazillian culture is demonstrated through her love and care for the show. Despite the weather heating things up for a 40 degree first performance, the cast never breaks character and performs with tact and talent. Seeing the show morph, adapt, and change over the last four years has truly been an honour, with Amazônia being Talita’s best one yet!

As a truly outstanding show, Amazônia blends together live drumming, fiery pyrotechnics, awe-inspiring costumes and a gripping narrative that keeps you at the edge of your seat. Incorporating different styles of dance like contemporary, Salsa rueda, and samba into the performance, the cast is backed by a killer score dominated by Afro-Indigenous Brazilian rhythms.

Amazônia will leave audiences laughing, crying, and cheering to the mix of drama, dance, and dazzling costumes. Get your tickets now!!
