If you work in the corporate world, you will be all too familiar with whatever the latest buzz word or catchphrase is that marketing and HR wheel out to keep the organisation fresh. You are asked to take a ‘deep-dive’ into what you can ‘bring to the table’ to make sure your ‘ducks are in a row’ so you can ‘synergise with stake-holders’ before taking your ‘idea shower’ ‘offline’. No idea what that all means? Thank goodness for James Schloeffel and Charles Firth!
James and Charles are both well known for their work with The Shovel, The Chaser and The Chaser Report — all satirical websites that put their own stamp on the news of the world. In Wankernomics James and Charles take us (the staff of the organisation) through a very important, all hands-in staff meeting where they unpack this world of office jargon that really, when you get to the bottom of it all…it means nothing.
At times, it felt like we were dropped into the middle of a show like Utopia. The pace at the start of the show felt a little slow, but once James and Charles got into the swing of their material, the laughs came fast and plenty. Their dry humour perfectly suited the format of the show.
Running though to the end of the Fringe, this is a tongue-in-cheek sixty minute show that should be seen by anyone who is working in the corporate world.
