Adelaide Fringe has seen a remarkable 25% increase in ticket sales compared to the same time last year less than two weeks after announcing the 2024 program. This significant surge in ticket sales sets the stage for what promises to be an unprecedented season of Fringe in 2024.
After the record-breaking success of Fringe 2023, which set new standards in attendance with the sale of one million tickets, Adelaide Fringe is poised to exceed expectations once again. The strong early ticket sales hint at the growing anticipation and excitement amongst audiences for a summer festival experience that continually redefines the boundaries of creativity and entertainment at an affordable price point.
Adelaide Fringe Director and CEO Heather Croall said, "The Adelaide Fringe has always been a barometer for the thriving arts and cultural scene in both South Australia and the country as a whole. This extraordinary increase in ticket sales, especially following a Fringe that already broke all previous records earlier this year, is a testament to our festival's ever increasing appeal and the public's huge appetite for magical and groundbreaking arts experiences,"
Fringe boasts broad demographic attendance and appeals to a very diverse market both locally and via visitation to the state. The 2024 season of the Adelaide Fringe again promises a dynamic program, featuring local and international artists, with a plethora of shows and events spanning theatre, comedy, music, dance, visual arts, and more. It is expected that the Fringe in 2024 will attract over 50,000 tourists to South Australia.
Adelaide Fringe Executive Director Programs and Developmnent, Jo O’Callaghan said, "we are very excited by the response from our community. This increase not only signifies the festival's growing popularity but also reflects the passion and dedication of the artists, venues, volunteers, and everyone involved in bringing this event to life,"
