Burn it.
Queer. Dark. Hilarious. The complications of a friendship that acts more like a relationship.
Charged and complex, ‘Burn it.’ exposes two friends navigating their feelings for each other, their mental health, and the aftermath of an abusive relationship.
But it’s funny, we promise.
Nothing says ‘moving on’ like zero self-reflection... Cam and Jayden prefer drinking, denial, and making fun of trauma. Their witty banter and dark humour perfectly balance heavy themes and raw, relatable storytelling.
“Laughing one minute, crying the next” The List

Created by a queer team and written without gender, 'Burn it.' has been restaged with non-binary, masc and fem actors across six seasons.
Presented by: Lydia Kuelsen
Lydia Kuelsen is a queer writer, producer and actor, with a Bachelor of Acting for Stage and Screen (BAPA). Their passion is for naturalism and raw, emotive stories that connect with audiences on a personal level—exposing feelings and experiences that aren’t often shown in popular media.
Burn it. was written with an entirely genderless script so that any actor could step into either role and bring their own energy. Across six, Australia-wide seasons (2023-2025), various non-binary, fem and masc presenting actors have showcased the fluidity of the characters’ experiences. The goal: to prove that we are not alone in our struggles, no matter how we identify. The characters’ relationships and past experiences are not a product of their gender. They are a product of being human.
