Future Relics Workshop
Dive into an immersive workshop with visual artist Christopher Boha, where you’ll explore the art of assemblage using found objects to tell your own story. This hands-on experience invites participants of all skill levels (kids 12 and under with an adult) to create 3D artworks that weave personal narratives through layering, mixed media, and object arrangement. The workshop begins with an artist talk on assemblage history and Christopher’s own influences, followed by demonstrations of layering techniques and materials exploration. Bring your own objects or choose from an array of provided materials to craft a one-of-a-kind piece that will be displayed during the Adelaide Fringe Festival. ★★★★★ “A workshop so ground-breaking, it’s probably changed lives!” – Christopher’s Dad
Feel free to bring along your own found object to include in your artwork or box or other container to build your art work in.
Presented by: Chris Boha
Discover the extraordinary journey of artist Christopher Boha, whose childhood began with tools and scrap wood in a rural Canadian town. There, he transformed the mundane into imaginative forts and sculptures, igniting his passion for creativity. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, Boha explores themes of belonging, home, and the narratives shaping our identities.
Since relocating to Adelaide in 2009 for his PhD, he has taught and exhibited across Australia, Canada, Italy, the USA, New Zealand, the UK, and China. During the Adelaide Fringe Festival, experience his latest exhibition that invites reflection on cultural stories and our perceptions of self. Don’t miss this chance to engage with an artist whose work resonates deeply in today’s chaotic world!
