TANDANYA National Aboriginal Cultural Institute is Australia’s oldest Aboriginal-owned and operated multi-arts center, located in the heart of Adelaide on Kaurna Yarta. Established in 1989, TANDANYA is a cultural beacon for First Nations storytelling, artistic expression, and community engagement, dedicated to showcasing the richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Housed in a heritage-listed building at 253 Grenfell Street, TANDANYA has been a vital space for exhibitions, performances, workshops, and festivals that celebrate First Nations creativity. The land on which the National Aboriginal Cultural Institute sits on Kaurna land and the site for the Red Kangaroo Ceremony connected to Red Kangaroo Dreaming. TANDANYA respects and recognises the land and culture of the Kaurna people.
