Ten Thousand Hours
06 March 2025 - Saxon D.The spiritual sequel to A Simple Space, this is circus stripped back to its simplest elements - perseverance, trust, humour and grace; and what impressive feats the human body is capable of when these things come together. -
Elf Lyons: Horses
06 March 2025 - Saxon D.I've seen Elf a few times now and I am never disappointed. It's always a highlight of every fringe year and if you're the sort of person who wants a sure thing, go to an Elf show - you WILL like it. -
Karen Houge: Dreamgirl
06 March 2025 - Saxon D.Although it's a little rough around the edges, this show delivers an emotional punch and speaks to serious questions while never feeling like it's trying to deliberately tug at your heartstrings. It's earnest and absurd in equal measure. Karen has massive potential to deliver groundbreaking work and I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for her shows in the future! -
Role To Cast LIVE
10 March 2024 - Saxon D.Everything about this show is to be applauded - the performances are high quality while never being formal or rigid, the venue is one of the best at the Fringe, and the content brings amazing variety and value, with every night an entirely different TTRPG system and at 3 hours long, it's one of the cheapest shows at the Fringe in terms of $ per minute. Plus, it's getting better every year. Highly recommended. -
SMUT, the show
04 March 2024 - Saxon D.Simply one of the best shows this Fringe. Aggressively gay, unapologetically political and filled to the brim with raw talent. Shoutout to Themme Fatale for being a pitch-perfect host. -
WET
01 March 2024 - Saxon D.WET, while imperfect, shows a great deal of charm and authenticity. Some segments are more crucial than others, but at its best WET is very good. It does a good job of speaking to female empowerment - one criticism is WET talks a big game about the breadth of differences in the lives and bodies of women - I'd love to see that reflected more in the cast and content. Still worth your time in my opinion. A certain lecture in particular is end-to-end perfect. -
Love Life Laundry
29 February 2024 - Saxon D.I enjoyed the show, I thought it was a really solid act with a decent amount of variety for a two-person show. The overall theme/narrative was fairly clear which is always nice in a show like this. There's an emotional punch about halfway through that I think is effective, but could be enhanced with a little foreshadowing to give it a little dimensionality. Overall, solid 4-star show in my opinion.
