Two of Adelaide’s most loved winter festivals, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Cabaret Fringe Festival, feature a fantastic array of both local and interstate favourites from this year’s Adelaide Fringe program.
To celebrate the first anniversary of their popular bi-monthly cabaret revue, the Creme de la Creme queens will dazzle with shimmering showgirls, delicious divas and cabaret queens in Bebe's Room Drag Cabaret, while the slinky dancers of Cuban Flow will take audiences on a journey of adventure, love and lust – both at the Cabaret Fringe Festival.
ARIA award nominated Fringe favourite Sammy J will be back, sans Randy, to bust out his favourite songs at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, while the acclaimed Jessica McKerlie will explore gender fluidity in her joyous and empowering burlesque cabaret Gender Spanner at Cabaret Fringe Festival.
Singer/pianist Deborah Brennan will celebrate and life of one of music’s most iconic voices in A Case of You: The Music of Joni Mitchell (Cabaret Fringe Festival). Former Adelaide Cabaret Festival Artistic Director (and current Fringe favourite) Kate Ceberano will team up with Paul Grabowsky to reinterpret some of the great love songs of the past 50 years (Adelaide Cabaret Festival).
Frank Woodley, who presented his first ever children’s show at this year’s Adelaide Fringe, will team up with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for another family-friendly event – The Composer is Dead – at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The decidedly less family-friendly Candy Chambers will showcase her signature wit in Candy’s Cabaret Live as part of the Cabaret Fringe Festival.
There's also Fringe talent galore in the recently released program for Adelaide's newest winter festival - Umbrella: Winter City Sounds, which will take over the city for the first time this July and August!
With such a diverse range of talent on offer, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Cabaret Fringe Festival and Umbrella: Winter City Sounds festival are the perfect opportunity to see new work or shows you might have missed from your Fringe favourites. There’s no excuse to stay inside this winter!
