Human Resources Officer

What you'll do:
As a Human Resources Officer, you will be integral in ensuring smooth HR operations across the organisation. Reporting to the Executive Director - Operations & Finance, you will be responsible for managing recruitment processes, implementing HR procedures, coordinating performance reviews, and overseeing the offboarding process for all employees. Additionally, you will play a key role in managing the organisation's volunteer program. Your contribution will directly impact the success of one of Australia's largest arts festivals.
  • Supervision of the Senior Operations Coordinator, AFL Sports Ready Trainees, and the Volunteer Coordinator
  • Manage recruitment processes and providing support to hiring managers through finding and filtering candidates, offering necessary resources, creating contracts, and ensuring consistency throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain daily operations of the HRIS
  • Research and implement HR procedures and processes to improve service delivery.
  • Manage organisation-wide training and development opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, review, and maintain policies based on legislation requirements and business needs.
  • Coordinate performance appraisal/review process between leaders and team members.
  • Manage offboarding process for all employees.
  • Oversee maintenance of volunteer records / databases / files
What you bring:
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in a similar human resources role. You will possess knowledge of HR, WHS, general operations, and volunteer management. In addition, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor or Diploma degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (desired)
  • Proven experience in a similar HR role focused on recruitment and employee life cycle management.
  • Dedicated to providing outstanding people experiences.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to deal with diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines concurrently.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring confidentiality.
